Mars Wine Station throws away the rule book
Set up in 2020, Mars Wine Station is a wine producer based in Marseille, bold, innovative, and unique.
Throwing away the rule book, we aim to be an asset to Marseille, and enhance the city’s distinctive character.
The winery first launched the “Vins de Mars” range, which paid homage to the wine-growing culture of Provence. Mars Wine Station has now produced its first wine made in Marseille in its own urban winery.
Mars Wine Station – the vision of two old friends from Marseille
Mars Wine Station was founded by Michel Assadourian, a successful businessman who founded the French mobile phone company Wiko, and Lionel Boillot, who worked as a wine trader in China for 23 years.
Both partners, as wine lovers, decided they wanted to do more than just distribution – they wanted to produce their own wines. And not only that, they decided to go even further and experiment with creative vinification, such as wine infused with music – a sign of their dedication to an individual approach.
Since 2020, Mars Wine Station has produced wines which encapsulate Marseille’s identity in a bottle. Organic, well-balanced, and affordable, these wines, whose names evoke the best of the city, are just the first steps in the winery’s plan to put Marseille at the forefront of the wine scene – not just in France, but around the world too.
